Happy Birthday Sarah
Sarah Frances Britt Craft would have been 84 years old today. Happy Birthday to a spunky, tell-it-like-it-is, hold nothing back, there's a coke in the fridge and a candy bar in the drawer, Granny.

the history of a house
My paternal grandparents house sits on a sharp curve. When we were little and went to visit, we looked out for the curve and the large tree that sat on it. For us, this curve was a sign that we'd arrived. Others, however, never seemed to see the curve. This past Thursday, there was a car accident there that killed a driver. This, according to my dad, is the second time someone's been killed on this curve.

| Driver killed in car crash By Josh Green Staff Writer LILBURN - A Ferrari driver from Auburn was killed and another passenger severely injured in a New Year's Day crash in Lilburn. Police said Russell E. Hays, 32, lost control of the yellow, exotic vehicle near a curve on Harmony Grove Road at Nimblewill Way about 9 p.m. The car left the right side of the roadway, struck a culvert and ejected both occupants as it flipped, Gwinnett police spokeswoman Cpl. Illana Spellman said. Hays was partially trapped beneath the car, which caught fire and burned both victims, Spellman said. The passenger, who has not been identified, was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital with severe burns. Hays died on scene, police said. Spellman said alcohol may have contributed to the crash. Results of toxicology tests are pending. | |

more photos
Dad brought home more photos from Granny's. These photos are much like the last set: old & contemporary photos as well as some newspaper clippings. I'll have to go through and organize these with the others.
Many of the photos seem to be from Great-Aunt Ollie's & her husband (Joseph John Funston Jr. of PA). I've posted on message boards and mailing lists to try and make a connection on these. So far, no one has contacted me.

Photo wealth
I've just come into a wealth of borrowed photos. My Granny's house is being put up for sale and the family is emptying it out. My Aunt June knew that I was interested in any photos, so she put them all aside for me to borrow and scan.
Well, there are hundreds of photos, many of them loose and in no way chronological. The photos range from a few years ago to 70 years ago. There are some that I've seen before and many others that I have not.
I think that first I need to organize them, probably chronologically. Then I'll start scanning them. If I don't organize them first, I'll end up with a jumbled mess... much the same as I have now.
Maybe once I get them scanned I can create CDs to send out to other family members.
It's sad though, to find baby pictures of myself that we gave to our grandparents, that once again belong to us now that their recipients have passed on.

True Love
My aunt sent us scans of a photo and some documents that belonged to my paternal grandparents.
